The princess cut is most popular cut shape for diamonds after the round brilliant cut, because of its excellent fire and brilliance. It has a square or rectangular shape when you look at it from the top. 

This fancy shape diamond is designed from the inverted pyramid of the rough diamond stone. A princess cut diamonds tends to cost slightly less per carat than a brilliant cut round diamond of the same quality, because it mains the four corners which would otherwise have been cut off and rounded. So less of the rough stone is lost in the cutting process.

The diamonds used in this jewelry have been purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolutions. Based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these diamonds they are conflict free and mined in accordance with the Kimberley Process.

Gardens of the Sun goes beyond conflict free. Since our sourcing policy came into effect in November 2018 we only purchase diamonds from known origins. We avoid sourcing diamonds from Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Russia (last purchased in 2019), Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe.
