It was a search for love, purpose, happiness – and you ventured far and wide. You looked high and low. Until finally you gave up and crumpled with defeat. But something caught you, something saved you. It was your own embrace, the one that awaits with open arms. Always ready to break your fall.
18 karat yellow gold, mined with traditional and low impact practices by indigenous Dayak women in Central Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo, who receive fair pay
0.54 ct pentagon cut diamond from South Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo, comes with a certificate from the government owned LPSB lab
This ring holds just one stone and it's a very special one. It has a modern pentagon cut. I could see it symbolize a house, a home, the foundation of your life together.
According to the accompanying diamond certificate:
Weighs 0.54 ct
Measures 6.47 x 4.45 x 2.49 mm
Cut grade is good with good symmetry and polish
Clarity is SI2 with noticeable inclusions: natural, feather and crystal
Color grade is near colorless (I) with strong blue fluorescence (LW)
What do we mean when we say that this was diamond ethically sourced? Rarely will you know where your diamond comes from, as they're traded in large batches and mixed in the process. For this stone, we personally went to South Kalimantan to visit the diamond mines on the rubber plantations of the locals and met with the cutters. We know that this stone was mined and cut in Indonesian Borneo, where all diamonds are mined and cut on a small scale rather than by large corporations.
The diamond has been securely set in 18 karat gold. This gold was responsibly mined by indigenous Dayak women in Central Kalimantan, who receive a 20% premium for their gold in exchange for using low impact mining techniques that are free of mercury and cyanide.
We only get small batches of this gold, because traditional gold panning means they only get very small particles of gold, which combines into less than a gram a day. Your ring is a true labor of love.
We made this ethical engagement ring or wedding band for the couple who wants a guilt-free ring to symbolize their love.
Yohana helped me along the way. And I couldn't be more happy with how my ring turned out. Oh my goodness, I love it so much...

This necklace was a must have to for me. It’s my husband/love of my life/best friend birthstone. And my lucky stone! I’m a very indecisive person when I log on to this site. But while browsing, I saw this necklace and fell in love. It’s absolutely beautiful. I love the clever way the chain is designed on the pendant. And the citrine is just lovely.
I’m so happy with my purchase and with this company. If I could give 20 stars I would.

Gardens of the sun is top tier! I love this ring so much. The green sapphire and green garnet! Are you kidding me! I didn’t even know they came in green. I love it so much! I am a sucker for anything green so of course I was drawn to this ring and it’s the perfect size. I’m so happy thank you :)

I am absolutely blown away by my ring!
I'm very happy with how my ring turned out and the excellent customer service at Gardens of the Sun. I'll give some context on why i chose Gardens of the Sun. I had gotten married and my husband and I bought each other simple wedding bands. The entire process of getting married was very simple and happened fairly quickly, we had no engagement and thus no engagement rings and our ceremony was a quick solemnisation witnessed by 50 of our closest friends and family members. My husband wanted to gift me with another ring, this time with a diamond or gemstone topping it. And because of my picky nature, he let me choose the shop and design myself. Of course I wanted a gorgeous ring but what was equally important to me were three additional requirements: I wanted the ring to come from a small company, not large brands like Tiffany; I wanted the ring to improve and support the community it operates it and not just profiting the owners; and I wanted all the components of the ring to be sourced ethically. It was mightily difficult to find a company that meets my requirements and falls within the budget so I was very much over the moon when i found Gardens of the Sun on instagram!
I can't emphasize enough how beautiful the ring in person, I gasped when I first saw it. The gemstone is a 2.44 carat sapphire sourced from Tanzania. I love its details like the minor inclusions and how in different lights, it could look mossy-green or verdant green.
Thank you to the team, especially Rissa for patiently answering my numerous queries! If you're considering getting a custom ring, do it! My only advice is that it does take quite a long time (at least 10 weeks) so do factor that into your timeline!
