These gemstones have been mined by artisanal miners all belonging to indigenous Dayak tribes.
Our diamond and gemstone jewelry from Bali is made using natural sapphires and diamonds mined in Indonesia to showcase the Indonesia gemstone heritage. These stones come from Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of Borneo, where small-scale miners, many from Indigenous Dayak communities, pan for sapphires and diamonds by hand. From mine to market, these ethically sourced gems stay close to home.
This is gemstone jewelry that tells the full story, from the rivers of Kalimantan to your hands in Bali. Real diamond jewelry and genuine sapphire jewelry made with and in Indonesia.

Indonesia is rich in natural gemstones, especially in Kalimantan. Indonesia gemstone jewelry carries the richness of the land it comes from. Indonesia’s volcanic mountains and mineral-heavy soil have shaped sapphires, garnets, jaspers, agates, quartz, amethyst and opals, each one formed slowly, over millions of years.
You’ll find diamonds formed deep in the earth, and sapphires in unexpected shades, from sky blues to forest greens to rich pinks, bicolor sapphires and even star sapphires.
This island nation holds more beneath its surface than most ever see. Our Indonesian gemstone guide dives deeper into what makes these stones so special.
Our Indonesian sapphires are mined by hand by indigenous Dayak people in the very heart of Borneo.
Our Indonesian diamonds are conflict free and traceable. Each one is ethically sourced, polished locally, and set in precious metals like silver or gold. Some of our higher-value diamonds come with a diamond memo or lab certificate, so you know exactly what you're getting.
If you're looking for real diamonds in Bali, this is where they start. Gardens of the Sun is a certified B Corp and sources these gemstones with care.
There are plenty of gemstone markets in Indonesia. But very few can trace a gem’s journey from mine to maker. We do.
We’ve spent years building relationships with artisanal miners, gem traders and cutters across the country. These aren't gems that changed hands a dozen times across the globe. These are Indonesian gems, shaped and set by people who know exactly where they came from.
Each Bali jewelry design is crafted by hand using recycled sterling silver, mercury free gold and responsibly sourced gemstones and diamonds. Whether you’re searching for a diamond ring from Bali, a custom sapphire necklace, or a meaningful gift with a story behind it, this Indonesian gemstone collection brings you closer to the source.

You’ll hear a few different words. "Intan" refers to a raw, uncut diamond. "Berlian" is the term for a polished diamond, ready to be worn. In the diamond fields, miners often use "galuh", which means "virgin." It’s rooted in a belief that saying the word “diamond” out loud brings bad luck. So instead, they call it galuh, out of respect and superstition.
