Economy shipping for orders up to $200 comes with delivery confirmation, but no tracking (3 to 12 weeks)

JNE for domestic orders, free for orders of $50 and up. 

If you spend $200 or more, we’ll ship your order for free using DHL, FedEx or EMS. 

You will receive a notification email with details on how to track your parcel’s progress. 

If you have pre-ordered or custom item(s) within your order, the whole order will be placed on hold and shipped altogether when the item(s) are back in stock (within the timeframe stated on the pre-order product page). 

Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for any delays caused by destination customs clearance processes, local duties and taxes, and items that are lost in transit.

We also offer a DHL and FedEx Express shipping options at a small fee, which you can select at the checkout. DHL and FedEx are excellent services and we highly recommend them if you need your order urgently.

We'll try our very best to get it to you in time!

For faster shipping, please select a premium shipping service, like DHL or FedEx. These take up to 5 business days to destinations worldwide. This excludes any time the package may spend at customs or delays if no one is home to receive the package. We offer free fast shipping for orders of $200 and up.

All ready-stock items are shipped within 3 working days of your purchase, excluding on national Indonesian and Balinese holidays. Economy shipping to the US, Australia, and Europe normally takes up to 8 weeks, but occasionally it does take longer, especially around the holidays.  

— We don't offer economy shipping to Canada due to delays in the past.   

— Unless agreed otherwise, custom made jewelry is shipped within 6 to 8 weeks of your purchase.   

— If you'd like to be able to track your package and have certainty when it'll arrive, please select a premium shipping service like DHL or FedEx

Of course! All jewelry comes with complimentary gift wrapping. Leave us a note in the box during check-out if you'd like to add a personalised message.

If you'd like to make sure you'll be there to receive the package or deliver to another address, you can manage it through  FedEx Delivery Manager or DHL's On Demand Delivery. These are free services are available for you to choose how, when, and where the courier delivers packages to your home.

As the recipient, you are responsible for any subsequent costs incurred for parcels returned to our studio due to attempted deliveries, insufficient/incorrect delivery information or failure to retrieve parcels from delivery centres. Standard shipping fees will be incurred for all parcels re-sent from our studio.

Please make sure that your delivery address and phone number are correct, so your gorgeous goodies get to you as quickly as possible!

Returns and Exchanges

We want happy customers that love our jewelry! You can read our Love Guarantee for our promises, and more information on how return works on our return policies page.

If you find your ring doesn't fit, you can return it for a full refund or exchange it for a different size. Not all rings can be resized due to the type of setting. In that case you may want to return the ring and exchange it for another one. Questions? Contact us at info@gardensofthesun.com so we can discuss specifics.

Unfortunately we can’t resize these rings, as the stones are set with tension.

Nothing breaks our hearts more than broken jewelry! If anything happens to your piece, all is not lost - we’d love to fix it for you. If your jewelry arrives in less than stellar condition due to mishandling during shipping or any mistakes in production, please contact us within 14 days of receipt. We'll replace your jewelry at no cost as timely as we can. If it is damaged due to a fault on your side, we're still happy to help. You can always send it back to us for repairs. You'll be charged for any materials, labor, and shipping incurred.

If you can let us know your tracking number, we’ll keep an eye out in the mail and drop you a message as soon as we receive your package back in our studio. Please note that the turnaround time for repair will start only when we receive the ring back at the studio. It usually takes about 2 to 3 weeks to repair your jewelry piece, and it may take longer if we need to re-make your ring or for more complicated settings. Just let us know if you’ll need it before a certain time and we’ll try to finish it sooner!

That depends. If we have the right diamond or gemstones in stock you may purchase a single. Our pieces are made by hand and often with uncut gemstones. As a result, each piece will vary slightly in size, shape and color. In some cases, we'll ask you to send the mate to us, so we can better match it for you. The cost for one earring is typically half of the cost for the pair. 

Custom Orders

Yes!  We’ve been working on a custom ring service, which we’d love for you to try. We can recommend you a ring based on our existing designs and allow you to customize yourself. You can select the diamond or gemstone, metal, and setting. You even get to choose whether you’d like to add any small diamonds or side stones.

Unfortunately, custom orders (including engraved pieces and special ring sizes) are non-refundable, but we do want you to be happy with your piece. If the item is damaged or we made a mistake, we'll work with you to fix it. As each piece is handmade to order, outside of repairs and issuing a claim for defect, we don't accept returns. However, if you need resizing, or need further work to perfection your custom order, we’re be happy to work with you. If your piece has been damaged or is defective please email us within 7 days of receiving your order.

We know how excited you must be to receive your piece! We’ll do what we can to get it home to you pronto! The turnaround time for us to craft your ring (excluding delivery time) is 6 to 8 weeks from your date of purchase. If you still need to confirm any order details (e.g. ring size, setting, necklace length), we’ll get started once you’ve confirmed this.

For silver jewelry, the deadline falls closer to 6 weeks, while for gold rings - especially white gold - it is leaning more to 8 weeks. 

We only sell our designs as completed pieces, with all of the stones we sourced and set by our expert metalsmiths.

At the moment we only work with stones that we source ourselves.

We don't work with moissanite. Sorry about that!

Buying My Product

We often restock these rings, as they always sell out quickly! The sizes listed are the sizes in stock. Is your size out of stock? Select " pre-order your size” on our website. Just add a note during check-out to let us know what size your need and we'll make it for you in around 6 weeks.

Yes we do! Like, really honestly conflict-free. This means, in some cases, the diamond is traceable, and extraction is well regulated. It also means the journey of getting that diamond piece to you as a part of your #OOTD did not involve any conflict, such as the funding of rebel groups and other kinds of shady kerfuffle. They even come with a certificate of origin. How cool is that!

We work hard to process your orders as quickly as possible, in order to get them to you sooner. For this reason, we can't usually make any changes to your order once it has been processed. If you need to make any changes or cancel your order please contact us as soon as possible at  info@gardensofthesun.com so we can see how we can help you.

We’d love to make you a ring with multiple varieties of stones, but we can’t do this due to the difference in size, shape and hardness of these stones. We recommend stacking them instead!

We all love a fan favorite! Pre-order items are sold out bestsellers that are currently being re-stocked. If you have pre-ordered item(s) within your order, the whole order will be placed on hold and shipped once when the item(s) are back in stock (within the timeframe stated on the pre-order product page).

Sadly, once a limited edition or one of a kind piece sells, we are usually not able to make another. Most of these designs are limited in quantity due to stone availability. However, we might have another similar gemstone or diamond to make you a piece just like it. Just check-out our build-your-own section or drop us a message!

They're both 18 karat gold. The difference is in how it's mined - so the ethics behind it. Our regular gold is from an unknown origin, we don't know under what conditions or by whom it was mined. Our ethical gold is mined by a group of indigenous women that we partner with. They've agreed to no longer use mercury (which is super toxic to the environment), and in exchange we pay them a premium for their gold. So we know exactly which village it's from, we know it's legal, we know the environmental impact and we know that we're supporting indigenous women :) In terms of quality there's no difference!

Ethics

We love jewelry. But the jewelry industry has a huge problem with environmental damage and human rights abuses. Like you, we care for our planet, its people and animals, and we want to live in a world that’s sustainable and fair. These values are reflected in our business choices. 


We use recycled silver when we can (the market available fluctuates a little). Starting January 2020, we will only use our ethically sourced gold from indigenous women miners in Kalimantan for our gold jewelry. Our ethical gold uses less harmful chemicals, involve no heavy machinery, no deep digging, and it’s sourced domestically rather than imported to reduce our carbon footprint. We’re slowly phasing out the use of regular gold from unknown origin. We only source gemstones and diamonds when our suppliers can tell us the country of origin - ideally a more detailed location and information about who cut the stones. A verbal or written guarantee from our supplier that a diamond is conflict free isn’t enough. We’re working to create shorter and fully transparent supply chains for diamonds and sapphires from artisanal miners in Kalimantan. As we’re going against business as usual and need to set up an in-house cutting center, we expect the first fully traceable gemstones to be available on our website late 2020. We use plastic-free packaging made from banana paper. Our actual jewelry is made by a trusted partner who works exclusively with Gardens of the Sun and provides living wages. They hire fairly and do not discriminate against persons with a physical disability and/or those who are illiterate. All our employees that have passed the trial period receive health insurance coverage, access to our bicycle fleet, a weekly vegetarian lunch, and a weekly yoga class.The only animal products we use are cultured pearls. We plant 5 trees for every piece of jewelry sold in collaboration with the Eden Reforestation Projects.

Payments

Sales tax is included in the price you see on the website. The only surcharge you might see is for shipping, if your order value is below $200.

We currently accept payments via Credit Card, Paypal, Apple Pay, and Bank transfer. If you're based in the US, now we already offer payment with Sezzle where you can pay for your jewelry over time with zero interest! :)

You don't need an account to make a purchase. You have the option to check out as a guest.

Occasionally we do have some special deals. Follow us on Instagram for the latest updates, but our best deals can only be found on our Insider List. We also offer free fast shipping on higher value orders. 

GIFTS AND SURPRISES

Absolutely! Enter your address in the billing section and the gift recipient's address in the shipping section. If you'd like to include a message with your gift, please leave us a message at checkout. Feel free to send us an email to personally ensure this message comes through. In order to save paper, receipts are never included with your package. All jewelry comes gift wrapped in our signature jewelry boxes.

If you're buying a ring as a gift, you can find some tips here. Choosing the correct ring size is your own responsibility, as people differ in the way in which they prefer their rings to fit. Some wear them loosely, while others like to wear them more tight. 

Yes, all jewelry comes with complimentary gift wrapping in our signature jewelry boxes. We find that jewelry boxes just protect the jewelry better when it travels half way across the world, plus unpacking your jewelry is an experience we want you to enjoy. To save on packaging material we combine gift wrapping for items purchased together. Should you need separate gift wrapping, please let us know in a note when placing your order.

ABOUT

Gardens of the Sun is owned and run by Meri Geraldine. Born and raised in the Netherlands, and living in Indonesia for over a decade. You can read more about Meri and the rest of our team here.

The name of the shop, Gardens of the Sun, comes from an old journal about Borneo island written by an explorer from the 19th century. The journal described the exotic jungles of the tropical islands of Borneo and Sulawesi. His description of the home of the Dayaks, rare birds, and curious animals opened up a whole new world for Meri.

The design studio is a hop, a skip, and a jump away from the beach in Bali, Indonesia (yes, that's as amazing as it sounds). The actual magic happens in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

At the moment we only have an online shop, and our studio is not open for public. But we’re currently in the midst of planning something amazing, so keep an eye out for exciting announcements! Be sure to get on our Insider List so you don’t miss anything.

It sure is! All of our jewelry is created by an experienced silversmith or master goldsmith. Even the packaging is handmade. The personal touch is one of the best things about anything from Gardens of the Sun.

However, if you have the opportunity we highly suggest getting sized by a professional jeweler. We find that people differ in the way in which they prefer their rings to fit.
