Peridot

Peridot is an August birthstone. The epitome of the warm August summer, the peridot is a remarkable gemstone with remarkable roots. Its basic form, the olivine, originates from meteorites and comets formed billions of years ago.

With the sun as its energy source, its luscious green color is scintillating and brimming with life. This gemstone has been said to drive away dark forces. Use the peridot as a talisman, protection for you and your loved ones against the Evil Eye.

Conflict free diamonds

The diamonds used in this jewelry have been purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolutions. Based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these diamonds they are conflict free and mined in accordance with the Kimberley Process.

Gardens of the Sun goes beyond conflict free. Since our sourcing policy came into effect in November 2018 we only purchase diamonds from known origins. We avoid sourcing diamonds from Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Russia (last purchased in 2019), Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe.

• PER04 - 1.73 ct custom oval peridot from Pakistan, cut in Thailand. Measures 8.7 x 6.7 x 4.3 mm. Bright green color.
• PER08 - 2.97 ct custom leaf cut peridot from Arizona, USA. An olive tinted, earthy peridot swaying sensually in an unusual leaf cut. Mesmerizing and sultry. Custom cut in the EU by Ravenstein Gems. SI2 clarity with lily pad inclusion, measures 13.2 x 7.4 x 6.1 mm. Since this stone has a higher profile, an open bezel setting would be the most elegant choice. A regular bezel setting or basket prong setting may look bulky.
• PER11 - 1.62 ct custom shield step cut peridot with black Ludwigite needles. Mined in Pakistan, faceted in Australia by Laura from Tatum Gems. Measures 10.1 x 6.1 x 4.1 mm.
• PER12 - 1.39 ct square emerald cut peridot from China. Faceted in Wales by Jeffery Davies and Son. Measures 6.5 x 6.5 x 4.6 mm. Since this stone has a higher profile, an open bezel setting would be the most elegant choice. A regular bezel setting or basket prong setting may look bulky.
