Borneo Green Sapphire Ring

The green sapphire is set in an open bezel setting that allows light to come in from the sides of the stone.

It's flanked by 5 tiny diamonds set playfully in the shank. These Canadian diamonds are from responsible origin, traded in line with the Kimberley Process Certificate System.

Ethical sapphire

The sapphire measures 5.3 mm in width, and 3.8 mm in height. It was mined by hand by artisanal miners in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. These miners are indigenous Dayak men and women, who received a fair price for their rough sapphires.

This round sapphire boasts multiple shades of green, like a happy patch of leaves. To get this sapphire, our founder, Meri, travelled 3 days into the remote jungles of Borneo. She slept in a tiny village along the river, and mined together with the miners.

The rough sapphire has been cut by Scott Maier in Vermont, USA. It has a beautiful precision cut that really brings out the vibrant green color.

You can see how this sapphire is fully traceable from mine to ring, and why we dare to say it's been ethically sourced!

Sapphire birthstone

Sapphire is the September birthstone. This mesmerizing gemstone symbolizes wisdom, loyalty and faith. It was once believed to protect your loved ones from harm.

At first glance, sapphire gleams with power and strength, but its true colors shine within kindness and hope – that’s the stone’s real secret sauce. Sapphire lets us get real because it offers protection, discipline, insight and healing. She carries great wisdom of intuitive truth and memories of the elders. A symbol of friendship and peace, and a shield for negative energy.

Our signature ethical gold

We use 18 karat ethical gold, which is mined and processed with traditional, mercury free, low impact practices by indigenous Dayak women in Central Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo, who receive fair pay. This gold is as ethical and sustainable as it gets.

Sapphire Engagement Ring

This green sapphire ring makes an understated and elegant everyday choice. A beautiful and ethical choice if you're looking for a green sapphire engagement ring!

The perfect shade of red!

I am in love! It's so bright and the perfect shade of red that I look for in a garnet. Definitely going to have to get the matching necklace!

We like the mismatched earrings!! <3

Besides the unconventional earring shapes out there, I decided to buy the mismatched bundle for my mom and my sis. To my expectation, they really like them! My mom who is in her fifties even likes the fact wearing the mismatch earrings.

Super happy! Thank you Gardens of the Sun team <3
