Rough Opal Necklace with Hidden Gems

She’s a vibrant thing. Flashes of colour, dripping with that zest for life that makes raindrops dance. They said she came to Earth riding a rainbow, and you can see why. She’s your eye in every storm, never fails to make you smile. Both good and evil rush in her veins, and that’s why you chose her.

Rough Opal Necklace with Hidden Gems

This rough fossil opal was mined in Lightning Ridge, Australia. The opal mining authorities and registries here are very particular about who they give mining licenses. There are strict rules about safety and the size of the mines. These fossil opals come from different family mines. Our Australian supplier is a member of the Opal Association of Australia and assures us that these opals have been ethically sourced.

Each necklace features 5 gemstones and can be shortened up to 3.5 cm (1.4") with the special extension chain. As the gemstones are natural and rough, the colors and size might slightly vary.

Opal

Opal is the October birthstone. Flashes of color dancing in a glimmering stone, there’s not much that needs to be said about its beauty. This birthstone is as versatile as it is colorful – use it for playfulness and strength, tenderness and truth, to amplify your karma and keep your cool all at once.

Opal absorbs and reflects light as it dances, and likewise, it picks up thoughts and feelings, desires, and buried emotions, amplifying them and returning them to the source. Opal helps you to let go of patterns of fear, anger, negativity and self-harm. If you need to let go of the one who doesn’t deserve you, have faith in Opal and this too shall pass.

Opal is a rather soft and porous stone. Please be mindful with exposure to sunlight, soaps, lotions, chemicals and any cleaning agents as this may affect the stone.

Recycled sterling silver

We use recycled silver from Umicore. This company is listed as a Conflict Free Smelter by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMA), Chain-of-Custody certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) and complies with the LBMA Responsible Ag Guidance. We opt for recycled silver as an interim solution while we look into setting up a traceable supply chain for artisanal, pollution free silver.

Exactly what I hoped for!

First off the unboxing is my favorite! So perfectly down.
In to the ring, it’s perfect ❤️ we have it for a wedding ring. It’s very subtle inside, but when you step into the sunshine is when it shows all its glory. 💯 recommend.

Very satisfied nonetheless

This was my engagement ring and I love it ! True to size. Went down a little like recommended and it fits perfectly. Packaging was really sweet with fun details about the stone. Giving only 4 stars because I had to pay extra shipping fees for "remote area delivery" although the carrier they ship with regularly ship to my house and I never heard about my address being considered remote. Also, please note the gems are more of a dusty blueish tone. Although it's perfect for my taste and a color I really enjoy, the pictures represented show more of a white pearlescent tint than what I received. I'm very satisfied regardless but it's something that might bother someone else.

Hi Shani,

Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience and lovely photos. I'm sure your valuable feedback will help many customers when they're deciding to purchase the rough opal ring with hidden gems :)

I'm deeply sorry about the additional shipping fee and I understand your confusion. Please know that the shipping price stated upon checkout is the shipping price that Gardens of the Sun and FedEx has agreed to ship to the recipient country. Normally, FedEx or other shipping carriers are able to ship our packages to any address within the country without additional cost.

However, unfortunately, certain shipping carriers have their own policy and reasons why some areas are considered remote, hence the more expensive shipping fees. In cases like this, we'd find another shipping carrier that doesn't consider the recipient's address as remote so our clients don't have to pay for the extra shipping fee. It's unfortunate that your address is considered remote by both FedEx and DHL. You can find the list of areas FedEx and DHL consider as remote through these links:
https://www.dhl.de/dam/images/Express/downloads/dhl-express-remote-areas-service.pdf
https://www.fedex.com/content/dam/fedex/us-united-states/services/Zipcodes_OPA_ODA.pdf

I hope you understand that the remote location pricing is beyond our control and we don't have a system yet to automatically integrate the price with FedEx and DHL remote location pricing. Hopefully, a system like this will be available in the future. We'd absolutely use this to deliver a better customer experience on our website.

Yes, our rough opals have slightly different base colors and different colorful flashes. I'm so glad to hear that you love the opal shade in your ring and that it fits perfectly on you!

Again, thank you for leaving us a review. I'm excited to see your next order, Shani. Please let us know if you have another address that isn't listed as remote area or if you need any help before placing an order. We'd be happy to help!

With love,
Maharani
