Rhodium Plating

For our white gold jewelry, we offer the option to add a thin layer of rhodium to add that extra oomph. 

Rhodium is a type of platinum that gives your jewelry its shiny luster and reflective white look. While it is too brittle to make jewelry out of, it helps protect your jewelry from scratches.

Gemstones like as peridot, opal, topaz, ruby and emerald can’t handle the sulfuric acids in the electroplating solution.

Only for rings made by Gardens of the Sun. This can be our natural 18 karat white gold jewelry where the rhodium plating has faded, or for our 18 karat palladium white gold which has a grayish undertone. 

Rhodium plating is done at our partner in Bali. We selected this company as our partner since they are the only one we know of offering rhodium plating who have a proper waste management system for the chemicals used in the plating process.
