Rough Borneo Sapphire Ring

Rough ethical sapphires are bound in a dreamy bezel setting which frames memories. The soft tones are firm but gentle reminder of knowing when to let go and when to hold on.

Each rough sapphire ring is made by hand and one of a kind.

Ethically sourced sapphire

Featuring an ethically sourced sapphire from Kalimantan, mined using low impact, manual methods. These sapphires were mined by hand and with wooden pans by indigenous Dayak sapphire miners in Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo. These miners receive fair pay. We share more about this partnership here.

Sapphire

Sapphire is the September birthstone. This mesmerizing gemstone symbolizes wisdom, loyalty and faith. It was once believed to protect your loved ones from harm. Sapphire lets us get real because it offers protection, discipline, insight and healing. She carries great wisdom of intuitive truth and memories of the elders. A symbol of friendship and peace, and a shield for negative energy.

Recycled sterling silver

We use recycled silver from Umicore. This company is listed as a Conflict Free Smelter by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMA), Chain-of-Custody certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), and complies with the LBMA Responsible Ag Guidance. We opt for recycled silver as an interim solution while we look into setting up a traceable supply chain for artisanal, pollution free silver.

Style Tips

The Most Beautiful Pearl

My name means pearl, so I've always used pearls as a sort of symbol in my life. I saw this on the Gardens of the Sun Instagram page and knew I had to have one. I have so enjoyed wearing it and can't believe the quality of the pearl. It is stunning!

Sweet + Dainty = Perfect

I could go on and on about how perfect and unique Gardens of the Sun’s rings are but it’s not even about that...You truly feel a part of a community and family of people greater than yourself. Do yourself a favor and don’t wait as long as I did to buy one of these pieces of art.

I bought this ring because it reminds me a ring that my grandma used to have. I don’t know if it was the same stone but the feeling I had when I put it in my finger was absolutely intense.
It’s an amazing ring and I can tell that you make them with absolute love.
Thank you so much!

Cute and thoughtful

I thought the whole process from reading about the piece, to buying it, to waiting for it in the mail and finally unboxing it was really sweet. The ring itself is okay quality. My moonstone is a little loose in the setting and there's a big crack in it. Otherwise, it's a really unique piece.

Thank you so much for sharing your honest thoughts with us. We're very sorry to hear that the Mooonstone smile ring didn't work out. However we're glad that we can step in and come together to get another beautiful ring home to you instead. We'd love nothing more than getting the perfect ring for you. We hope you enjoy your new ring! ;)
